I just so happened to run into a guy I graduated with back in 1995. He looks the same. His voice is the same but things seemed different. Well, I could be that I haven't seen or talked to him since the last day of school over 13 years ago. He even decided to not attend the commencement ceremony. He ran in his last track race of the year. I can't even remember how he did and I didn't ask him either. Oops!
His wife was a fellow classmate too. They were together for years, split because of college and ran into each other after they returned here after the graduated and have been together since. That is the cutest thing. I recently joined Facebook and have "ran" into a bunch of fellow classmates that I didn't think I would ever hear their names again. I do "talk" to a few of them and I am still in awe of how many are still connected. I basically lost touch with everyone. I do receive a Christmas card from Sarah every year. I ran into Heidi during our festival last year. Brian T. even came in last deer hunting season. He is still handsome as ever.
There are some that I think about very often and haven't figured out how to contact them. Isn't it strange that while you are in school, half won't talk to you because you are uncool. Then you run into them shortly after graduation, and suddenly they want to be your friend.
I first moved to this town in 1988. Shortly after I lost my Grandmother to Breast Cancer which ended up spreading to her bones. I was in 6th grade. My new teacher was great but man oh man, the boy in the next row was so attractive that he almost made you forget where you were for a few moments. I still think of Gabe often. I do see his mom once in a while but can't bring myself to ask her where and how he is. hmmmmmmmm.
What do you remember most of high school? Was it a horrible experience or was it just a fact of life which you couldn't and can't ignore?

I graduated in '95 too! The facebook thing has also happened to me. Some of my classmates live here in the Cities too. Funny how at least 5 (out of 64) end up in the same place, more than 5 hours from our hometown.
I keep in touch with quite a few friends from high school. There is an ebb and flow to it, but overall my same friends from school get an email from me a few times a year. Some I talk to on the phone, some I drive hours and hours to see, others live close by and I'm their son's Godmother.
I do wonder about how everyone "turned out". I certainly wasn't the most popular in school, but when your class is small, everyone knows everyone. I was surprised to see how little people had changed at our 10 year reunion. I'm not sure if there'll be a 15 year one. I hope so. With so many of us having kids it's nearly impossible to get together anymore without a really good reason. All but one of my friends is married so the wedding rush is over.
What do I remember most? I'd have to say having tons and tons of fun. Sure, I have bad memories from my senior year when my parents split, but overall high school was was filled with wonderful opportunities and friendships. I only wish I'd known how lucky I was back then.
Do let us know if you find Gabe. :)
